Studio Zmei

STUDIO ZMEI IS AN ANIMATION AND STORYTELLING STUDIO, CREATED IN 2015.
One of its main goals is to help develop the Bulgarian animation industry, by creating jobs on exciting international projects and also applying that experience to its own original IP.

The Studio was initially founded because of The Golden Apple project – the first animated series based on Bulgarian folklore.
In 2018, Studio Zmei began work on our first international collaboration – I, Elvis Riboldi – an animated series, co-produced between Spain and France, for which we created more than 90 minutes of animation. The show is aired in 130 territories worldwide on Cartoon Network and Disney Channel.
Since then, we have continued to grow and develop, producing animation for France, Russia and the US – some of which you can see in our gallery.
In 2021, Studio Zmei continues working on new exciting international animation projects, as well as several original productions and co-productions. Also, at the moment the professionals in the Studio are developing a second edition of Zmei Academy – an online course for basics of animation – covering some aditional sets of skills that were not introduced to the students in tha Academy, vol. 1

AWARDS

• Специална награда Будител на годината за 2018г. на Екип „Студио Змей“ за анимационна поредица „Златната ябълка“/ Special award “Inspirator of the Year” 2018 for the Studio Zmei team;

• Награда “Златната ябълка” за принос към правата и благосъстоянието на децата в България на Национална мрежа за децата; Award “Golden Apple” of National Network for children for contribution to the rights and wellbeing of the children in Bulgaria

• Награда за най-добър епизод от Тв сериал – от МЕЖДУНАРОДЕН ФЕСТИВАЛ НА АНИМАЦИОННИЯ ФИЛМ. „ЗЛАТЕН КУКЕР-СОФИЯ“/ Award for the best episode of TV series – by the International Animation Film Festival Golden Kuker ‑ Sofia;

• Национална награда „Бисерче вълшебно“, категория “Откриватели” за книгата “Легенда за първия кукер”/ National award “The Magic Pearl” , “Explorers” category, for the book “Legend of the first Kuker Warrior”
